In this podcast meditation, we’re going to explore the nature of habits. A habit is a regular tendency or usual manner of behavior that often has become nearly or completely involuntary. It may be a pattern acquired by frequent repetition. We have a tendency often to think of habits as bad things that must be reformed – but habits can be good. Most of us have the habit – or custom – of showering daily, brushing our teeth, eating, and drinking. We may have the habit of going to bed or getting up at a particular time. Let’s consider the habits we have for which we are grateful, habits we might want to develop, and habits we’re happy to release.
